The project in Huancaro

Finally the day we had been looking forward to for so long arrived and we are happy to introduce you the new children of Añañau! Full of expectations and eager to get started and help these children as well, we started the project at the school in Huancaro. 23 children who fill our hearts with their smiles and stories and with a lot of emotion, joy and at the same time a great desire to carry out an ever larger work in favor of underprivileged children in Cusco.

In August we also held a first parent meeting with the parents who all showed up with great enthusiasm. They were each very grateful and happy that this program of after-school homework assistance and help for their children was made possible and that they can participate in it. We also explained all the activities and functionning of the project well again, together we took some practical decisions and the parents were able to ask all their questions to the team. The meeting was concluded with a very positive feeling from both the team and the parents. We are therefore very happy that the work that we do is also supported by the parents, that they want to take their responsibilities and together we can build a better future.

The anniversary of the primary school in Huancaro

On August 22th it was the 25th birthday of the school I.E. N ° 501318 ‘Luis Vallejos Santoni’ in Huancaro where the second project of Añañau takes place. This time it was very special because on the one hand it was an anniversary celebration and on the other hand also because after so many years they could finally celebrate their birthday in a new and solid school building. After the official speech of the head teacher, the various grades presented all kinds of typical dances and poems to show how proud they are of their school.

The children of the project also participated in the celebrations and typical dances in honor of their school. It was a day full of joy and happiness, moments in which we also participated with Añañau. Congratulations to all teachers for their many years of efforts and to the children for the beautiful performances!
