Christmas in Añañau

It is the nicest time of the year, also in Añañau we celebrate! Since this is not possible for most children at home, all children who come to the project and their family are invited to a cozy Christmas party.

When entering there was time to make a nice family photo. The volunteers provided a photo booth that provided beautiful photos! When everyone was there, a warm speech was given to complete the (school) year in the project. We are very happy that all parents are so involved with their children and very proud of what everyone has achieved.

Then the children read their wishes. Each child made a Christmass card for another child in the project. There were very beautiful wishes (and lots of big hugs)! Then it was time for the paneton and hot chocolate. Eating paneton at Christmas is tradition in Peru. It is a kind of sweet dry bread with dried fruit and everyone is crazy about it!

We concluded with the distribution of the presents. Each child received a Christmas present that they could take home. We already want to give our best wishes for 2019 to all the children, parents, team members, volunteers, students, godparents, the non-profit organization Qué Bonito and everyone who supports us. We hope that you can make all your dreams come true. We are already having our dreams for the new year and are curious what 2019 has in store!
